Andrew Kavanagh
CEO / Founder
Andrew began making films under the Kavaleer umbrella in 1998 and incorporated the company in 2001. His background spans fifteen years working at every level within the Irish animation sector, most recently Andrew’s credits include writing, producing and directing several of Kavaleer’s key slate projects. In addition to his creative and development roles, he also co-manages the corporate structure and direction of the company with partner Gary Timpson. Andrew is currently writing episodes of Garth and directing the short film Hasan Everywhere.

Gary Timpson
Managing Director
Gary‘s experience in animation spans two decades and three continents. Starting out in Dublin’s Shepard and Terraglyph Studios, Gary’s career brought him through directorial roles in London, Brisbane and Los Angeles working for such household names as Warner Bros. Since joining Kavaleer in 2003, Gary has produced, directed and co-developed in-house slate projects and client work. Perhaps best known as the face of Kavaleer on the International TV Market circuit, Gary has also recently produced Lifeboat Luke for RTE and is currently producing Garth for CBeebies.

Heidi Gutte
General Manager
Heidi began working with Kavaleer in 2004 and is responsible for overseeing the technical, financial and administrative running of the company. Heidi is a graduate of the Digital Media University of Advanced Science, Brandenburg, and holds a BSC in Computer Science and Media. Heidi is currently assistant producer on Garth.

Ciara Gillan
Production Manager
A graduate of DIT, Ciara holds a BA in Film and Communications. Ciara joined the company in 2006 and has become an integral part of the production team. Applying her skills of communication, organization and multi-tasking she lends her skills to all areas in Kavaleer, in particular working on the development stages of Kavaleer slate projects. Ciara is currently producing Hasan Everywhere, Kavaleer’s latest short film.

Rob Smith
Animation Supervisor
Rob started out studying French and Art History before settling into his Diploma in animation in 1992. After college, Rob’s career took him to Disney Studios in Paris where he worked on the movies Tarzan and Hunchback of Notre Dame, Trickcompany in Hamburg and eventually back to Dublin, where he has worked on various projects for Kavaleer including Destination Reading and Lifeboat Luke. Rob is currently supervising the creative team for Garth.
